Our story
We're Georgie and Paul Burrell, and Take the Pressure Off is our family business, born and based in Dumfries. We set it up in 2026 with a simple idea: do proper, careful work that makes an obvious difference, and be genuinely nice to deal with while we're at it.
The name works two ways, and we mean both. Yes, there's a pressure washer involved. But mostly, we want to take the pressure off you: the driveway you keep meaning to sort, the gutters you'd rather not go up a ladder for, the garden that's become a weekend-eating monster. Hand it over. We'll take it from here.
How we work
We're not a big outfit with a fleet of vans, and we like it that way. When you call, you speak to one of us. When we quote, we come and look at the job properly and give you a fair, honest price with no obligation attached. And when we turn up to do the work, we do it as if it were our own home.
Fair warning: we do like a chat. Plenty of our customers stick the kettle on, and we've had some brilliant catch-ups over a garden fence. If you'd rather leave us to it, that's absolutely fine too. Either way, the job gets done right.

Alongside the washing and the gardens, Georgie offers gentle memorial and graveside care across the region through Georgie's Graveside Touch. It's careful, respectful work for families who can't visit as often as they'd like.
